I did not really like how the Windows calculator was behaving for my job. It is hard to switch bases, mix them, slice bits etc.

After looking at what was available online like qalculate, I wasn't really convinced and decided to make one myself, with the help of Claude Code.

This gave birth to Nybble: a lightweight, tailored to my needs calculator, written in Rust.

I shared it to my colleagues, and it had some success ! Having their feedback was precious, as I could quickly iterate when coming back home. I could add features I didn't think of, fix UI/UX patterns I found nice when developing but failed in the hands of others.

The project is available here: https://github.com/fanaloka47/Nybble. It can be compiled from source, used as standalone or installed on Windows or Debian.
